Typically the user would set a dedicated monitoring chain into a given iptables table, and add the rules to monitor to this chain. The iptables plugin aims at monitoring bytes and packet counters

Typically the user would set a dedicated monitoring chain into a given
iptables table, and add the rules to monitor to this chain. The plugin
